ACCOMMODATION
The easiest way to book accommodation in Warsaw is to use one of the international hotel booking websites such as Booking.com or Trivago. Additionally there is a website run by the Mayor's Office dedicated to tourism in Warsaw where booking is also possible.
All major international hotel companies such as Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, Campanile etc. have their hotels in Warsaw, however these are usually located within 20-30 minutes bus ride from the Warsaw University camps.
Some of the hotels located in the immediate vicinity of the conference venue are listed below arranged by price category:
1) Upmarket
* Sofitel Victoria - located within 5-minute walk from the university.
Prices for the participants of the conference (available with code "19ICES"):
Single (breakfast included): Mon-Thu - 400 PLN + 8% VAT (ca. 93 EUR + 8% VAT), Fr, Sat, Sun - 290 PLN + 8% VAT (ca. 68 EUR + 8% VAT)
Twin (breakfast included): Mon-Thu - 450 PLN + 8% VAT per room (ca. 104 EUR + 8% VAT), Fr, Sat, Sun - 340 PLN + 8% VAT per room (ca. 80 EUR + 8 % VAT)
* Bristol - with prices starting from ca. 130 EUR, within 10-minute walk from the university
2) Moderate
* Harenda - practically neighbouring the university, price range 80-95 EUR, the guest of the conference should give the code "19ICES" during booking which entitles them to 20% discount
* Novotel - with prices starting from 60 EUR, this hotel offers 10% discount for participants who will book using this address (h3383-re5@accor.com) and give "19ICES" as code
* Castle Inn - price range: 64 Euro - 80 Euro, 10% discount with „19ICES” code.
* Ibis Old Town - for participants who will book until 30 july using this address (h3714-re@accor.com) and give "19ICES" as code, prices are: 50 Euro for single room, 55 Euro for double.
3) Budget
* student dormitories of the Warsaw University price: ca. 10 EUR per night per person, ca. 25 minutes by bus
TRAVEL
The conference will take place in the main campus of the Warsaw University. The campus is located in the very heart of the city, only 10 minutes walk from the UNESCO-listed historical Old Town. Some advice for the guests is listed below. If you are coming:
1) By plane - Warsaw is served by two airports. Fryderyk Chopin Airport is the destination of all the major airlines. It is conveniently connected to the city centre and the University by bus #175 or train # S2. The Modlin Airport is generally reserved for budget airlines. There is a shuttle bus which drives regularly to the central railway station.
2) By train - from the central railway station (Dworzec Centralny) bus #175 takes you directly to the Warsaw University main campus
3) By car - the parking space around the campus is very limited. If you plan on coming by car please contact the organizers for more detailed advice.
